Ministry for Church Leadership
Created out of a love for God’s people and specifically a heart for those in leadership, Sound Mind Consulting recognizes the importance of nurturing and equipping ministers and others working in Christian leadership roles.
These individuals play a crucial role in guiding and shepherding their brothers and sisters in Christ, and yet often feel they have no one to walk beside them. They need and deserve to work with a professional who understands, values and lives by sound Biblical principles and who will be led in session by Holy Spirit, as well as by their professional training. Our coaches offer a safe and confidential space for leaders to share their struggles, seek God’s guidance, and find healing.
About Our Team
We utilize Professional Spirit-Led Coaches, who have a proven close relationship with Jesus. They have each had additional training in working with those in Ministry or other Christian Leadership. In an environment of transparency and accountability, our carefully selected coaches are also provided extended professional and spiritual support and ongoing education. While each coach has their own growing private practice, each has committed to donating or discounting sessions for ministers expressing a financial need.
Many on our team have had additional education or life experiences that qualify them to confidently work with issues including leadership and team management, work / life balance, parenting & child development, decision making, relationships & communication issues, Biblical accountability and more. We offer practical tools and strategies to help leaders overcome burnout, manage conflicts, and foster healthy relationships within their families and church communities. Each team member supports their clients in setting and reaching their goals and also may be utilized as a confidential prayer partner, secure sounding board or encourager. All sessions are Spirit-Led and Jesus is recognized as the Source of all wisdom and healing.
Churches need leaders who are healthy and free! Each team member is dedicated to cultivating and empowering Christian Leaders, enabling them to fulfill their calling with excellence!
Future Plans / Trusted Connections
In addition to growing and developing our carefully selected team of Spirit-Led Coaches, we are in the process of identifying other Christian professionals who can play a supportive role for our clients as needed. We also know there is a need for individual and group trainings for those serving in our churches (those on staff as well as volunteer Leaders!). We are currently working closely with another Christian organization, Fully Equipped Academy, which is developing and producing individual and group trainings in alignment with our mission. These will include such topics as navigating difficult conversations, developing and retaining volunteers, on-boarding new Leaders, restoration of strained relationships and more. Our trusted Sound Mind team will be the facilitators for these trainings.
Additionally, we understand the impact of “church hurt” and understand that it can deeply impact church leadership as well as those within their organization. Healthy leaders are the first line of defense against church hurt. We are preparing our coaches to work with Christian Leaders to explore new ways to promote healing and reconciliation within congregations dealing with this. Our team is being trained in multiple techniques to help leaders address issues such as emotional wounds, broken trust, and communication breakdowns within an organization. We are ensuring each coach is equipped to help our Shepherds learn to recognize the impact of trauma and learn how to support those who are already wounded. Our goal is to enable leaders to create a healthy, connected, safe and peaceful environment for their entire church family.
